Welcome! This is a special place - dedicated to my Mentor, Richard Welander - and to Nature, Wildlife and Landscape photography. I first started taking photos with a Kodak Instamatic when I was 11. At age fourteen, I had a paper route and I saved my money to purchase what I considered to be a premium camera, the Olympus OM-1. I carried that camera with me on countless outings and basically became self-taught in the area of wildlife and nature photography.
In college, I enrolled in a year of photography course work, furthering my compositional skills and intensifying my passion to capture moments in nature. Moving on, friends and family encouraged me to offer some of my prints for sale. I have also sold photo books and calendars. My good friend and Mentor, Richard, formerly from my hometown, Fergus Falls, has been especially encouraging. (He's a great guy - and an outstanding photographer/editor.) All this encouragement has culminated in the website you are presently visiting.
Please, take some time to view my Galleries. Many images are well suited for large format. Paper, canvas, metal - you name it. And you can even purchase greeting cards and mugs!
Thank you!
